fads
not too long ago, i listened to thelonious monk ... only thelonious monk.
for about two years.
i guess it was in the early 90s.
soon thereafter, i switched to charles mingus for about a year.
then to duke ellington for a couple years.
after that, my tastes moved to fin-de-siecle french composers: ravel, saint-saëns, debussy, fauré, ... by then, it was the late 90s.
then, somehow, i got into bjork in a big way. go figure.
then i started listening to arab electronic dance music. that was in 2002-03 or so.
around 2003, i picked up on kompakt, a label in köln, and went pretty much exclusive with that. i'm still pretty stuck on that.
i wonder what's next? mash-ups? maybe.
